In recognition of her exceptionally significant contribution to the artistic expression and promotion of felting— both nationally and international— Filtti has chosen felt artist Rutsuko Sakata as the Felt maker of the Year 2026.
Rutsuko is a globally renowned felt artist who develops the versatile possibilities of felt. Her felt creations range from functional textiles—such as coats, jackets, scarves, and hats—and interior textiles to large-scale art installations.

Since 2004, Filtti has selected four felt makers of the Year : Tuula Nikulainen (2004), Eero Lahtinen (2007), Leena Sipilä (2010), and Elina Saari (2016).
