Exhibition rulesUpdated 1/2010
1. Filtti organizes exhibition which are open for all members.
2. The exhibitions are for felted works which are well designed and technically of high quality. The exhibition aim to tell the high standard of felt in Finland.
3. Each Filtti member has a possibility to send one felt work or a series of felt works to each exhibition.
4. The felt work must have some connection to the theme of the exhibition and also it must be at least partially felted/felt.
5. Registration: There is a form on Filtti webpage which you should use to register for an exhibition before due date.
6. The registration is compulsory. However if you cancel your registration, the participation fee will be invoice regardless.
7. All due dates and shipping instructions are stated in the information sheet. We sincerely wish that these dates are respected.
8. Packing of felt works for shipping:
Pay extra attention how you pack your felt works. Use wrappings so that it is easy to open, so that the felt product can be returned to you after the exhibition in the same package. Pse note that the max. weight can be 10 kgs.
Incude in the parcel: a dispatch note and an address slip with return address.

10. From abroad; post or freigth, which ever is easiest and taken into consideration the costs. If you are shipping from outside EU countries. Find out if Filtti has to pay any customs fees. Those fees and return postage will be invoiced from you.

11. All insurances (shipping, exhibition time ) are to be covered by the feltmaker herself. Filtti does not pay any loss or damage.
12. We will invoice the participation fee, which is stated on the information sheet
13. Commision fee: if the gallery requires a commission of the sold products, this will be stated on teh information sheet. Filtti does not require any commission.
14. Other information needed: for press releases and for exhibition catalogues
- for each exhibition the photo of the feltmaker is needed
- also a photo of the felt product or at least a story of the work
- artist statement (short version) is necessary for the catalogue
- name of the felt work, size, materials, technique and sales price witht he commission fee included in the price
- these canbe sent by e-mail to sirpa.mantyla@filtti.fi
only jpg-format for the photo is acceptable - most important: instructions how to hang the felt work. Even the felt work might be e.g. a carpet, generally all works will be hung on the wall. Therefore each work must have a proper fastenings for rods etc. In case these are diificult to post, pse let us know what you have designed for the hanging of your work. Also let us know if yuor work requires extra ironing or some other kind of treatment before the exhibition. Pse note that if we buy fastenings like rods or fi we have to provide packing material for return shipment, we will invoice all extras.
- The building and dismantling of each exhibition will be handled by Filtti board members. Filtti also has the right to make some changes on selected works if it is in the interest of the exhibition. Outside panel members are invited to make the selection of works on the most important/biggest exhibitions. This will be on the information on sheet.
16. The length of the exhibition will be stated on the information sheet before the opening. This clearly means that during that that each felt work must stay at the exhibition. Under any circumstances the felt work can be removed from the exhibition for the end. Sometimes the exhibition time will be prolonged with the mutual agreement bettween the gallery and Filtti; this will be informed by e-mail.
17. When the exhibition is closed, all felt works will be returned at recipient’s charges.
18. We will send invitations to each exhibition either by post or by e-mail. Information can be found also on Filtti webpage of the exhibition and photos lateron in the gallery section.
